Medical Assistant Program
Comprehensive Training for Modern Healthcare Careers
The Medical Assistant Program at the Southeast Region School of Health (SRSOH) is a multi-credential academic program designed to prepare students for three vital roles in today’s healthcare environment — Medical Assistant, EKG Technician, and Phlebotomy Technician. This comprehensive curriculum equips graduates with the clinical, administrative, and technical skills necessary to thrive in hospitals, physician offices, and outpatient care centers across the Southeast.
A Complete Pathway to Healthcare Certifications
Unlike traditional programs that focus on a single discipline, SRSOH’s Medical Assistant Program integrates training in three key healthcare specialties:
1. Medical Assistant (MA)
Students gain the knowledge and skills needed to assist physicians and nurses with patient care, clinical procedures, and medical office operations. Coursework includes vital signs, EKGs, medication administration, and electronic health records (EHR) management.
2. EKG Technician (CET)
Our EKG training helps students learn how to perform cardiac diagnostic testing and support patient care in hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centers. Training includes preparing patients for EKG procedures, placing leads accurately, operating EKG equipment, and monitoring heart rhythms — essential skills for assisting nurses and physicians in evaluating cardiovascular health.
3. Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)
Phlebotomy training provides students with the techniques and confidence to perform venipunctures, handle specimens safely, and maintain infection control standards. This certification prepares graduates for employment in hospitals, diagnostic labs, and blood collection centers.
Each section of the program builds upon the last, allowing students to graduate multi-skilled, employable, and ready for immediate certification in all three disciplines.
The Academic Advantage of Multi-Certification
SRSOH’s integrated approach gives students a competitive edge in the job market. Earning three nationally recognized credentials under one program strengthens both academic and professional portfolios.
